Abstract: A possible solution to strengthen end-plate bolted composite joints is to extend the end-plate belowthe beam and to add a haunch in the corner with the column. This strengthening arrangement is studied in this paper from both theoretical and experimental approaches. Experimental results are analysed and compared with theoretical ones issued from analytical models essentially based on Eurocodes 3, 4 and 8 [1-6]. Results are interpreted in terms of rotational stiffness, moment resistance and rotation capacity. The contribution of haunches to strengthen a beamto-column joint and to dissipate energy under cyclic loadings is quantified. Author Address: Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, Rennes, France
