In the experimental programme of research, eight specimens of endplate connections which have end plates extended in the tension side alone are investigated. The column webs are stiffened at the beam flange column interface. Numerical studies are conducted using ABAQUS finite element program for all the eight specimens. The finite element model is validated through a comparison of moment-rotation curves and failure loads obtained from the experimental results. Further, the results of the experimental analysis are used in reassessing the Frye-Morris [4] polynomial model which is recommended in the Indian limit state code for structural steel design, the IS: 800 [17].
