A total of six high strength concrete-filled square steel tube (HCFST) columns subjected to bi-axial eccentric loading were constructed and tested. The primary test parameters were the slenderness ratios (varied from 13.9 to 27.7),steel ratios(7% and 13%), and eccentricity along major axis was 71mm. The test results demonstrate the influence of these parameters on the strength and behavior of concrete-filled square steel tube columns. As what shows in the experiment, the steel ratio is an important factor which influences the bearing capacity of the specimens, and the stable bearing capacity of the specimens decreased rapidly with the increasing slenderness ratio. The specimens failed to work out of instability. Proper material constitutive models for HCFST columns are applied and verified by the nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS against experimental data. A comparison of experimental failure loads with the predicted failure loads in accordance with the method described in the reference showed good agreement.
